Now, you must know…I love burning candles. I have always loved aromatherapy scents, and it started for me in high school when I would burn incense because I loved the smell. Then, it evolved to scented candles, and I couldn’t get enough of those. A trip to the Yankee Candle factory in Massachusetts for me was always the ultimate of treats!

But, imagine my disappointment to discover that all of the yummy and delicious scents I was enjoying via candles came at a price. You see, most candles made on the general market are made of paraffin wax, a by-product of petroleum. Uh, yuck! And burning paraffin wax is known to release many toxins and even carcinogens into the air, actually causing the opposite of the purifying effect you’re going for by candle-burning. Man!

But, don’t despair. Of all the choices you have in the types of candles you can use, natural soy candles can be a very good choice. You can find soy candles in many different sizes and shapes, and in as many fragrances as you can imagine.
